The “International James Joyce” Exhibition
On Friday, 20 Dec 2019, at 11 a.m, the “International James Joyce” exhibition is scheduled for opening on the premises of the “Djura Jaksic” gallery at the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lots displayed are panels containing photographs and texts featuring characteristic motifs, places, and people that exerted an enormous influence on the life and works of James Joyce. On this occasion, addresses will be given by Ms Mina Djuric, PhD, assistant professor at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, and Prof. Petar Penda, PhD, full professor, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka. Ms Djuric defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Modernisation of 20th – century Serbian prose in relation to the reception of James Joyce’s oeuvre” and published a number of papers on Joyce. Following the reception, a cocktail party is organised. The exhibition remains open until the end of January 2020. Welcome to the Faculty of Philology!
